Kriston has a bachelor’s in English and art history from the University of Texas, in Austin, where he painted his face for Longhorns games and counted the bats under the Congress Avenue Bridge. He earned his journalistic chops writing for publications such as Artforum, The Washington City Paper, and The Washington Post. Today Kriston lives with his dog in the H Street neighborhood of Northeast Washington. He is a big supporter of more and better bike lanes—and tacos—in the city.
