The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) announced the shortlist for this year's RIBA Stirling Prize. The prize, established in 1996, is awarded annually and recognizes a United Kingdom building designed by RIBA chartered architects and International Fellows, or a building designed by a RIBA chartered architect that is located elsewhere in the European Union. Last year's award went to the renovation of Astley Castle by Witherford Watson Mann Architects.
