AIA Atlanta and Green Building & Design magazine (gb&d) created the first annual Green Awards honoring excellence in sustainable architecture. These awards are set to follow the AIA National Convention each year and recognize sustainable building in each city that hosts the annual conference. This year that city is Atlanta. The program will recognize architecture firms leading the charge of incorporating sustainable building practices in their work.

AIA Atlanta and gb&d are looking for the best and most sustainable Atlanta-based building projects completed after January 1, 2013. Architecture firms located across the nation are invited to submit entries, which will be judged on their originality in design, function, and sustainability.

The winning projects will be featured in gb&d’s May/June 2015 issue, “The Architecture Issue,” distributed at the 2015 AIA National Convention in Atlanta on May 14–16. The winners will also be recognized and celebrated at an intimate awards reception in Atlanta in conjunction with the convention.

Firms must submit their entries by Feb. 27. The judging will take place on March 3 and winners will be notified on March 4.
