Marvin Windows and Doors announced the winners of their annual Architect's Challenge on Tuesday.

To be eligible, each project needed to have been built in the last 10 years and use Marvin products. The winners each receive a trip to Minneapolis, where they will be taken on tours of local architecture as well as a factory in Warroad, Minnesota. The contest was judged by William J. Devereaux Jr. (Devereaux & Associates), Mark Scheurer (Mark Scheurer Architect), and David Furman, FAIA (Axiom Architecture).

The 10 winners of the award:

  • LenFest Management and Preserve Center at ChesLen Preserve, Coatesville, Pa. by Daniel Russoniello, AIA, of Archer & Buchanan Architecture, Ltd. (West Chester, Pa.)
  • Vermont Mountain House in Stowe, Vt. by Marcus Gleysteen, AIA, and Robyn Gentile  of Marcus Gleysteen Architects (Boston, Mass.)
  • Folly Farm in Boulder, Colo. by Dale Hubbard, AIA, of Surround Architecture (Boulder)
  • Casey Key Bay House in Casey Key, Fla. by Jerry Sparkman of Sweet Sparkman Architects (Sarasota, Fla.)
  • Batts Hall in Warwickshire, United Kingdom by Simon Janes of Janes Architectural, (Sutton Coldfield, U.K.) and Hugh Petter of Adam Architecture (Winchester, Hampshire, U.K.)
  • Bragg Hill in West Chester, Pa. by Matthew Moger of Moger Mehrhof Architects (Wayne, Pa.)
  • Lyme Guesthouse in Lyme, Conn. by David Mansfield of David Mansfield Architecture & Design (New York, N.Y.)
  • Santa Rita Cottage in Palo Alto, Calif. by Heather Young, AIA, of Fergus Garber Young Architects (Palo Alto, Calif.)
  • Highland View Residence in Mill Spring, N.C. by Rob Carlton, AIA, and Chad Harding, AIA, of Carlton Architecture (Asheville, N.C.)
  • Marquette Park Pavilion Restoration in Gary, Ind. by Bill Latoza of BauerLatoza Studio (Burns Harbor, Ind.)

Additionally, the Rose Cottage Project in Concord, N.H. won the "Challenge Showdown" portion of the contest. The project's architect, David Hart, AIA, of the H.L. Turner Group Inc. (Concord, N.H.), was awarded a trip to the 2013 Reinvention Symposium in San Francisco this coming October (a Hanley Wood event).
