DIY meets LEDs

Two popular, three-letter acronym-based product trends have recently converged: DIY and LEDs. German designer Daniel Becker created “Sparks” in order to explore the spatial possibilities of LED lighting technology, as well as provide Do-It-Yourselfers with the means to create large-scale illuminated sculptures. Sparks is comprised by several different modules that connect via simple screw-type joints to make expansive tree-like light assemblies. Sparks may be used indoors or out, and is designed to mount via a few strategically located attachments on vertical and horizontal surfaces. Resembling synthetic ivy, the sculptural lighting system can add dramatic visual interest to large rooms or gardens, and does not require any special expertise for installation.
