Curtain Walls

  • Sustainability and Glass Facades

This program is registered with AIA for 1 HSW/SD hour and with GBCI for 1 CMP hour. Learn how a glass façade contributes to a sustainable building, from energy savings and savings on mechanical systems, to occupant health and comfort. It also acts as a primer on building-integrated photovoltaics, or BIPV. This educational unit describes a glass façade building that is intelligently designed, with high-quality glazing and energy efficient frames, passive and active solar shading, operable windows that function automatically or according to occupant design, and even, to take it to the highest level, building integrated photovoltaics. Take the course.
