All the inevitable midcentury modern icons are up for grabs at Wright‘s July 14 Mass Modern auction in Chicago: vintage Eames chairs, gently used Artichoke lamps, and Knoll loungers with the original, slightly icky upholstery. And, as usual, there are gems. This time around, a random selection of objects with near-Platonic forms caught my eye.

An amethyst glass lidded vessel designed by Joseph Hoffmann, manufactured in Austria, circa 1923, by Moser Karlsbad for the Wiener Werkstatte. Measurements: 4.5 in. wide, by 4.25 in. deep, by 5.5 in. high.
