The Washington, D.C. chapter of the AIA (AIA|DC) has selected the winners of its annual Design Awards. This year, 38 projects were honored in nine different categories, with some cross over. Out of this pool, 10 were bestowed excellence-level prizes in the following categories: Architecture; Detail Award in Architecture; Historic Resources; Interior Architecture; and Urban Design and Master Planning. The projects range from affordable housing complexes, to renovating historic sites for public plazas, to modernizing interiors of university facilities all located in Washington, D.C.
