Last year, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) was invited by the Swedish city of Uppsala to develop a biomass co-generation plant in addition to the existing energy infrastructure for the winter months. Built specifically for seasonal use, the facility would emptied during summer months, so that the Copenhagen- and New York-based firm could transform the exterior facade of the power plant, both for aesthetic and functional reasons.
