In Santa Monica, Calif., city authorities and urban planners are testing a new app called CitySwipe. Modeled after the dating app Tinder, users are presented with images of new project ideas and can swipe left to oppose it or swipe right to support it. City officials are hoping the new tech tool will make urban planning “more transparent, inclusive and efficient for the public, planners and developers alike,” stated The Guardian. With this faster process, the city will be able to gauge what people want to see more of in the city including bike lanes, buildings, street art, parking, and markets.
