The Chicago office of Stantec has designed "The Park at Wrigley," a new outdoor plaza at the century-old ballpark that opened on Monday. The Chicago Tribune's architecture critic, Blair Kamin, writes: "There are lots of nice touches, like the paving, whose dark-brick curves echo Wrigley's footprint, and light standards that celebrate the ballpark's riveted steel construction." Additional new ballpark features, also designed by Stantec, include a west gate to help patrons exit and a six-story office and retail building that Kamin describes as a "contemporary building respectful of its context."
