Ersatz or inspired? Plans are afoot to transform Harper Lee's hometown of Monroeville, Ala., into a tourist attraction. According to website al.com, Lee's lawyer is pushing to create a "Harper Lee Trail" loosely based upon William Shakespeare's hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon. Facilities will include a museum dedicated to the author of To Kill a Mockingbird, a refurbished house where Lee and her sister lived, and replicas of the now-demolished houses that served as inspirations for the fictional homes of Boo Radley and other characters in the classic novel.
