The AIA has announced its latest Gold Medal winner, Julia Morgan, who was honored 50 years after her death, and is the first woman to receive the award. With the help of Esto’s archivists, ARCHITECT has compiled a retrospective look at AIA Gold Medal winners of the last ten years.

Deane Madsen, Assoc. AIA, LEED Green Associate, is an associate editor with Hanley Wood's Design group, with a focus on design and awards programs for ARCHITECT, Architectural Lighting, EcoBuilding Review, and Residential Architect.
