In its model of Zaha Hadid's Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Studios Architecture swapped out the building's glass-fiber-reinforced polyester panels for fondant, creating a much smaller and much more edible version of the 619,000-square-foot center in Baku, Azerbaijan. The model won the 2016 Great Architectural Bake-Off New York, held on Tuesday at Gallery 151, beating other delectable-looking models by WATG and Wimberly Interiors (the event hosts), Jeffrey Beers International, Bespoke Careers, Made NYC, Woods Bagot, and Grade New York.
