Urban design critic John King reviews a new station for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) designed by HNTB's Oakland office based on a concept by San Francisco architect Robin Chiang. King writes: "The design flourishes are modest, to be sure, and often they’re diluted by an emphasis on simple engineering over streamlined aesthetics.
