New York is the first city to have a WELL-certified building, approved by the International WELL Building Institute. Global construction management company, Structure Tone, opened their Gensler-designed, 82,000-square-foot headquarters this past week after seven years of project research. A WELL certification is based on seven building performance categories: air, water, nourishment, light, comfort, fitness, and mind. Having satisfied all seven categories, the 330 W 34th St office space garnered a WELL-Certified Silver rating, and boasts amenities such as sit/stand desks for every employee, sustainable building materials, and light fixtures that complement the human body's natural circadian rhythm.
