Zaha Hadid, Hon. FAIA, has launched a housewares collection featuring scented candles, table mats, and even a chess set, at London's Harrods department store. In a statement emailed to ARCHITECT from a spokesperson, Hadid says, "In terms of form, all our projects—architecture, product design and fashion—originate from similar principles. All the projects are connected somehow. The idea for a building, a product, or a fashion piece can come up just as quickly, but there is a big difference in process of resolving and realizing each design. Of course, there is a lot of fluidity now between architecture, product design and art—a lot more cross-pollination in the disciplines."
Here are some of the pieces from the collection, available at the London store and through Zaha Hadid Design's website. The collection ranges in price from roughly $62 to $16,338.
