This year's Driehaus Prize—the traditionalist’s answer to the Pritzker Prize—has been awarded to 73-year-old Rafael Manzano Martos, whose practice has focused on historic restoration, primarily in southern Spain.
Egyptian-born Abdel-Wahed El-Wakil, two-time recipient of the Aga Khan Award, has been named the winner of the 2009 Driehaus Prize for Classical Architecture.
