Montoute

Firm Description

MONTOUTE is an interdisciplinary collaborative brought together by an interest in the spaces between things as much as the objects that consume the space within our environments. We are less concerned about formal strategies but rather are concerned with mapping the patterns of human existence, interaction and desires. It is the overlay of these realities that help to create strategies that are the basis of the work

Director of MAP Colin Montoute, has been a practicing architect in New York for over 20 years. Colin has worked on a wide range of award-winning projects in both a domestic and international context. His international work includes projects in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Haiti and China. Colin was a founder of STUDIO DRUM Collaborative, a team of designers working and building residential, educational, and infrastructural buildings in challenging locations throughout the world. Their work was featured Architectural Record in early 2012.

The practice aspires to create work that will exist at a convergence between earth, sky, and collective memory. It is at this critical juncture where poetry exists.
