Starting Jan. 22, ArcLight Cinemas Chicago will put on a four-month film series referencing the use of Chicago’s prominent architecture as a tool for storytelling in cinema. The series will begin with 1987's The Untouchables, which takes place in the 1930s, and the series continues with Stranger than Fiction (2006) on Feb. 19, Metropolis (1927) on March 12, and The Dark Knight (2008) on April 23. ArcLight Cinemas is working in collaboration with the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF), who will follow each showing with a panel of experts and speakers from the foundation. CAF and ArcLight hope that viewers will recognize the changes in Chicago’s architecture over time. Read the full story at the Chicago Reader.
