Gravity Sketch, a smartphone app recently launched on Kickstarter, has been accumulating buzz since 2014. The synonymous London-based startup created a 3D printer-like experience without the gear, using virtual reality (VR) instead. When used with a VR headset, Gravity Sketch makes it possible to virtually draw on the environment around you—in other words, the world becomes your canvas.

"Most designers develop a product by creating multiple 2D sketches, then translating those sketches into a single 3D image using CAD software." says a Wired article. "Gravity Sketch wants to expedite that process by allowing designers to draw exactly what they see in their minds, right from the start."
