New counter and wall covering at the entrance to Alessi's Store on Greene St. in New York's SoHo neighborhood.
The store reopened after 2 months were spent on renovations designed by Hani Rashid of Long Island City, N.Y.-based Asymptote, as an update to Rashid's original 2006 design.
As part of the reopening, the store is hosting an exhibition "Metal Workshop: Cranbrook for Alessi," which showcases the fruits of a 2009 design workshop between the Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based design school and the Italian manufacturer.
Metal bowls on display in the exhibition. Four objects developed as part of the workshop will be put into production by Alessi later this year.
