Drawing the Belt Line

The master plan for the Belt Line includes residential, mixed-use, and commercial neighborhoods and pays careful attention to the location and flow of streets to create density and, with it, an urban feel.

Traffic Flow To determine the location and right of way of arteries and local streets, as seen above, planners connected new roads to existing infrastructure and public transit.

Street Formula Careful consideration was given to street and sidewalk widths in an effort to promote walking as well as congestionless driving in the area.

Block Typologies A close-up of an area on the northern edge of the Belt Line shows that housing typologies have been intermixed to add density to the neighborhood.
