The GSA's Prototype Alternative Workplace is a living lab, designed to demonstrate innovative work styles and provide the agency with feedback.

The prototype office, located on the seventh floor of the GSA headquarters, has an open worktables with reservable and non-reservable workstations.

The office has a neighborhood layout, with assigned team tables located close to the workstations.

These smaller "touchdown" stations are not reservable.

The workplace has both large, traditional meeting rooms and smaller meeting spaces.

A smaller, less formal meeting area.

The workplace includes informal seating areas.

The open workplace is designed for easy collaboration between colleagues.

Teams are assigned group filing areas.

Team tables include collaboration tools.

These full-size workstations are reservable.

Most team areas include writable, magnetic, or tackable walls to provide a sense of team identity and to aid collaborative efforts.
