This month, the architecture industry is headed to Philadelphia for three days of lectures, meetings, and some real-life, business-card-swapping networking. What should you see during AIA Convention 2016?

The Spruce Street Harbor Park: All that walking is sure to earn you some time off your feet. Kick back at this funky pop-up park in the Marina at Penn’s Landing—the site commemorating Pennsylvania founder William Penn’s 1682 landfall—on the Delaware River. A dense tree canopy provides shade by day, while colorful luminaires suspended from the branches glow after dark. Handmade hammocks slung between the trunks provide the perfect hideaway from the convention hubbub. Food, drinks, and live music round out the experience. For directions and hours, click here.
