Pendants often cast light in one direction, limiting their potential as sources of ambient illumination. Hanko, from London-based Cameron Design House, features a 12-volt circular LED tube ringed with cut plywood pieces to diffuse light in all directions while casting a warm glow. The 67cm- or 30cm-diameter pendant comprises 80 or 50 pieces of plywood, respectively, and suspends from three cables that also supply power. Available in laminated birch, American black walnut, and English Oak, the plywood fins are connected to a cast-acrylic suspension frame.
