woodworks grille is the newest addition to armstrongs woodworks family of composite wood ceilings. the standard wood grille system mimics the look of solid wood and is available in two blade heights1-3/8" and 2-1/4"and four finishes, maple, light cherry, dark cherry, and walnut. the standard blade width is 5/8", and the ceiling system is offered in 1'-by-8' panels with either six or eight blades per foot. custom options include blade height and width, finish, and number of blades per foot. suitable for office, higher education, hospitality, and retail applications. when backed with 1" acoustical infill, woodworks grille has a nrc of 0.9. the system installs on a standard armstrong prelude 15/16" grid. armstrong.com/woodworks

the screens collection by forms allows for a customized look without the budgetary or logistical constraints of custom work. designed for exterior and interior applications, screens can be used as room dividers, wall panels, windscreens, fencing, and more. the material may be specified in any sheet up to 48" by 96" in stainless steel or any of forms proprietary fused metals (bronze, graphite, nickel silver, or white gold) in one of many standard colors. several patterns are standard, including circa, which gives the appearance of woven metal, and kente, which looks like a traditional african textile. custom effects can be created by layering multiple screens; pairing different materials with screens; or using an eco-etch photolithographic bead-blasting finishing system. forms-surfaces.com

the leviton sector intelligent ballast and lighting control is a three-in-one integrated system that combines occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, and dimming control, helping installers to save wiring time and end users to save energy. sector uses the same wiring type for all components and accessories in the suite, and all components are on a single bus with accessories connected to the network rather than to the ballast. using infrared and ultrasonic technologies, the ceiling-mounted multi-technology occupancy sensor (right) reduces energy costs 34% to 60% by employing self-adjusting, smart, or customized settings to extinguish lights when a room is not in use. the sector network photocell measures ambient light levels to reduce unnecessary artificial lighting, and the sector 5-button digital switch (left) manually controls dimmable and nondimmable lighting. leviton.com

the newgrowth line of lamps from cplighting are made from 90% post-consumer recycled content and can be specified in any size and configuration from 12" to 20'. suitable for residential, commercial, and hospitality applications, the halogen line-voltage fixtures can be used as wall accent pieces or combined to fill an entire atrium. they can also be hung from the ceiling in a mono-point installation to create a chandelier. the fixtures are made of salvaged brushed-aluminum pipe, making them light and strong enough to be placed in a cantilevered position to compensate for ill-placed ceiling electrical service or obstructions such as beams or ductwork. designed by christopher poehlmann, they take a 50w jcd-type halogen bulb. cplighting.com

Outdoor


american clay enterprises new lime putty, which is made with u.s.-sourced lime, can be used for gauging the companys earth plasters (to increase hardening) and also mixed to make a limewash. as a gauging material, lime putty can be added to both american clays original and commercial plasters. the addition of lime putty reduces the working time of the plaster, but the end result is a harder finish, achieving near maximum hardness in six months. when used as a limewash, lime putty adds sheen and can cover 200 to 400 square feet per gallon per coat. it comes in 1-gallon buckets weighing 10 pounds and should be applied by american clay artisans or experienced plaster professionals. americanclay.com
