Project DescriptionLeMaster Architects designed #44 61st St., a contemporary 2,628 sq. ft. single family residence in Long Beach, California with a well-developed open concept that maximizes function while creating a modern, comfortable living environment. Constructed in partnership with glazing contractors B&M Glass and TBG Construction Company, the project design team used glass railings, minimal interior walls, and reduced visual barriers to produce a transparent, spacious home on a small plot of land.
To help achieve this, the team turned to C.R. Laurence for SRS Standoff Railing System and HRS Hand Rails for function and aesthetics. CRL’s technical support staff provided their expertise and extensive engineering reports to help the project team determine the appropriate layout and anchorage for glass railings at the stairs and landings. CRL also supplied Geneva Series Shower Door Hinges and 8 inch Ladder Pulls in the residence’s bathrooms for modern all-glass shower systems.
The design team incorporated several green features that meet CALGreen and Title 24 requirements including utilizing high efficiency mechanical equipments, low flow plumbing fixtures, sustainable lighting, FDC certified wood, and materials with recycled content.
Ultimately, CRL’s systems and hardware effectively met the specific performance and structural demands of the residential project’s streamlined contemporary design.
