The layout of the Qatar pavilion mimics the
urban layout of traditional markets, or souqs, emulating the internal paths
carved out to go from one kiosk to another. At the heart of the
26,000-square-foot space is an awning with intersecting geometrical forms with
multicolored glass panels. The shapes are supposed to mimic the jefeer, or the
traditional food basket used in Qatar. The pavilion also features a rooftop garden.
