The Vietnamese firm aimed to integrate trees to
the city, to imply that humans should live in harmony with nature. While the
trees serve an aesthetic purpose, they also block out the strong rays from the
sun during the hot summer months of the Milan Expo. The pavilion itself is
contructed of bamboo, a good that Vietnma is rich with. Twenty experts who have
a background in bamboo construction helped to design and build the site.
