NYY Steak

New York, NY United States

SOSH Architects

Project Description

Hard Rock and the New York Yankees combined forces to launch the flagship NYY Steak in Midtown Manhattan. As design firm on the project, SOSH Architects transformed four levels of a city high rise to emanate the one-of-a-kind culture of this iconic baseball team. The elite 236-seat steakhouse features multi-level dining areas, a grand staircase and an on-premises butcher shop. Distinctive design elements include a signature wall show casing the autographs of 86 legendary Yankee players and a custom designed Italian chandelier. The fixture, made from LED lights and 8,500 hooks of gleaming gold, silver and bronze Murano glass, dramatically descends nine feet from the ceiling in the feature bar. NYY Steak’s presence elevates the steakhouse to the major league of Manhattan’s restaurant scene.

Feng Shui Lighting The Champion Chandelier

SOSH Architects worked with Feng Shui Lighting to create a custom lighting fixture as the focal point of this premier New York City steakhouse project. The “Champion Chandelier”, designed by SOSH Architects for this flagship NYY Steak location, hangs over the main bar on the first floor and can be seen from all three levels of the dining room. The fixture uses LED light bulbs to illuminate the glass shade, making it the largest custom/energy efficient chandelier of its kind in the United States. Sized at 8'Hx30"Wx30'L, the feature lighting fixture from contains more than 8,500 individual overlapping hand-blown glass links in mirror finishes of bronze, gold and chrome. Feng Shui Lighting is a custom lighting company that partnered with Italian glass makers Vistosi to create the final product.
