A 16-mile stretch of highway extending from Georgia to the border of Alabama has been converted into a living lab for highway and road innovation called The Ray. Hoping to promote more environmentally friendly roads that embrace technology, organizers are working with the Georgia Department of Transportation to create "smarter, greener, and safer" highways according to a CityLab article.
