Over at Quartz, Michael J. Coren has discoverd that Elon Musk's electric car company, Tesla, is sinking some serious money in its upcoming massive battery factory that it's building in conjunction with Panasonic in the Nevada desert. Slated for fitting into Tesla's future Model 3 (which will cost a more customer-friendly $35,000), Coren uncovered another site that has been tracking the plant's approved contruction permits. So far, there has been "$542.65 million in approved construction, about half the estimated construction costs to date," and Tesla plans to drop about $5 billion on the Gigafactory by the time it's finished.
