Architects' Journal

The Architects' Journal bestowed Teresa Borsuk with this year's Woman Architect of the Year Award at a ceremony today. Borsuk is a senior partner at the London firm Pollard Thomas Edwards, which she joined in 1984. She graduated from London's Bartlett School of Architecture in 1983. Borsuk's work includes the Walthamstow Town Centre – Arcade Site, the Gunpowder Mill restoration and addition in Waltham Abbey, England, and the Avenue housing development in Saffron Walden, England.

The shortlist for the 2015 Woman Architect of the Year Award included: Joanna Bacon, a partner at Allies and Morrison; Rachel Haugh, a senior partner at SimpsonHaugh and Partners; Gonca Pasolar, a partner at Emre Arolat Architects; Carme Pinos, founder of Estudio Carme Pinós; Cristina Segni, a partner at Foster + Partners; and Clare Wright, a partner at Wright & Wright Architects.

Last year's Woman Architect of the Year Award went to Francine Houben, Hon. FAIA, the founding partner and creative director of Dutch firm Mecanoo Architecten.
