Two circular forms anchor the design of Miami's new science museum: a 250-seat planetarium, facing Biscayne Blvd., and a 500,000-gallon clear-bottomed aquarium tank. Designed by the New York office of Grimshaw Architects with executive architect Rodriguez and Quiroga Architects Chartered, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science opened to the public today, roughly five years after breaking ground. The new museum joins Herzog & de Meuron's Pérez Art Museum Miami, which opened in 2013, in the waterfront Museum Park.
