A cast of one performs for an audience of one in A Theatre for One, a five-day show in Duffy Square, New York, conceived by Christine Jones, a freelance set designer. Local architecture firm Lot-Ek designed the compressed stage-and-house after a confessional and peep-show booth. The black theater is made out of what looks like rock-and-roll road boxes, with one-half box each for the actor and audience, and separate entrances for each. The audience box is lined in red velvet. Check out a show on a first-come, first-serve basis through June 12. • theatreforone.com
