A piece of the late Philip Johnson's lesser-known architectural legacy is for sale. The 1954 Wiley Speculative House in New Canaan, Conn., was completed post-Glass House (located in the same town), but pre-Seagram Building. William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty is listing the property for $1,575,000.

The three-bedroom, three-bath house was designed for the Wiley Development Co. as a speculative house, but others were never constructed. Two additions in the 1960s morphed the L-shaped house into the U-shape it is today.

Johnson, who died in 2005 at 98 years old, won both the 1979 Pritzker Prize and the 1978 AIA Gold Medal.
