Firm Description
CF Design was founded in 1998 by its principal, Cheryl Fosdick. During its existence, the firm has designed more than 100 new homes and remodels. Most of our work is regional and specific to the Midwest and the Upper Great Lakes, and is rural, suburban, and urban, with our new built work generally tending to reflect a contemporary aesthetic.The works of the firm range in scope from very small custom furniture pieces and built-ins to family compounds and multiple building projects. We offer a full range of services interior and exterior and have a thorough understanding of materials and best practices, including energy efficient detailing.
We also serve a variety of income levels and will work with you to tailor our services to you design interests. We believe in design for everyone and in its capacity to make life better. We want to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. It’s one of the reasons we donate teaching time in our grade schools- we want kids to bring the passion and desire to design home to everyday discussions.
CF Design has 2 office locations. Our home office is in Duluth, Minnesota. Most of our materials libraries are located in our Duluth office. All appointments are scheduled through our Duluth office. We occupy a storefront space on our beautiful cities main street. We occasionally host art exhibits for local artists in our rather unique office, next to an independent film theater and café. Our ancillary office is located in Bayfield, Wisconsin, in the heart of Lake Superiors Apostle Islands National Lake Shore. It is a small office in a small town serving many second home and primary home owners from the larger Great Lakes region and beyond. Both of our office locations are surrounded by beautiful sites, interesting topography, and scenic waterways.
