Sylvania Releases Socket Study

Osram Sylvania has released its third annual Sylvania Socket Survey. While the survey results indicate a slight increase in consumer awareness regarding the implementation of the upcoming incandescent lamp phase-out, 63 percent of respondents were not aware of the legislation that went into effect in 2007, and 80 percent of respondents were not aware that 100W light bulbs will be phased out starting Jan. 1, 2012. While the public is interested in saving energy, lamp output, lamp life, and cost remain the principal drivers in consumers' purchasing criteria for light sources. More
