The two main horseshoe-shaped tasting bars were outfitted with custom wine display cases and signage that identifies each of the eight wineries that are in residence. Soffits help to define spaces in the open-plan space by defining tasting zones, circulation zones, and lounges. A new take on the wine bar, Press Club--in the base of the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco--plays host to eight local wineries at different stations on the two main horseshoe bars (one of which can be seen above) in an industry-meets-nature-inspired setting.
A lounge across from one of the tasting bars was programmed with some of the club’s only movable furniture so that the space can be rearranged and redefined for parties and private events. The tapas bar is the only place where wines from multiple wineries can be purchased. Framed by custom banquettes and with an events lounge tucked behind a wall-sized wine rack, this, the third of three main bar areas, is kept quiet enough for conversation with acoustic fabric lining the unfinished ceiling above the decorative soffits.
