Each cell in the honeycomb ceiling of Barkow Leibinger's restaurant and event space is dedicated to a specific purpose, such as lighting or acoustics. Cells that incorportate luminaires are wired on different circuits, so that all the lights don't have to be turned on at once. Tubular speakers hang from some cells to distribute sound through the space during lectures, meetings, and concerts.
