The addition of a three-zone Pergola X, with lights and retractable screens, turned an underutilized master bedroom deck into a private retreat at this Park City home.

When you live next to a picturesque ski resort, you find yourself captivated by its beauty. In fact, you want to spend as much time as possible taking in the views and natural splendor year-round.

Such was the desire of a couple whose spectacular Canyons Ski Resort-adjacent home was beckoning them to spend time on their 3rd-floor master suite deck. The problem: no protection or privacy during the long winters and no shade in the summers.

They needed a customizable solution that could be configured to their unique angular deck and anchored to a cement surface that was concealing a radiant heating system; a system that could stand up to snow and sun and would also fit the modern aesthetic of their home.

From StruXure, The Pergola X with its TraX system delivered! Three zones were configured to create the L-shape coverage required. The louvers in each zone can be adjusted together or separately at the touch of a button. During the winter, the louvers keep the deck snow-free, so that the outdoor fire feature and spa can be utilized anytime. During summer months, the pivoting louvers will provide just the right amount of shade when needed.

The seamless addition of retractable screens add privacy and help break the wind.
