Project Description
Amagansett House is a three-story, 7,000 SF vacation home in the Hamptons on Long Island. Secluded on over two acres of untouched woodland near the ocean, the new construction includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms as well as a two-car garage, in-ground pool, and pool house. After exploring starkly traditional and contemporary approaches with two different local architects, the client became convinced of their interest in creating a design that blended both influences: an image of a modern home befitting of the Hamptons aesthetic, not a historic replica or a simple box. The final design, a contemporary Dutch gambrel, is a modern interpretation of the local vernacular, well-suited for hosting and entertaining guests through the separation of private and public spaces. Interiors by owner and Blue Ocean Design.
