Project Description
Located in Evergreen, this station opened in December 2013 replacing the fire station in Bridlewood at 2375 – 162nd Avenue S.W. This new station serves the same communities as the Bridlewood Station did – the communities of Evergreen, Evergreen Estates, Somerset, Shawnessy, Millrise, Shawnee and Shawnee Slopes, Silverado, Fish Creek Park and Everglades.
The new Evergreen Fire Station 37 is more than 1,500 square metres and has been built to meet Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards. It includes features like permeable pavers to infiltrate rainwater and reduce runoff and a black solar wall on the back of the building to help reduce energy costs.
