Dutch firm Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) will design the new Nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel, it was announced on April 28, 2015. The hotel, designed to serve the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, will be just shy of 300 feet tall, and contain 650 rooms—the largest hotel in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. According to a news release on OMA's website:
"Located on the south-eastern edge of the convention and exhibition centre, the design for the Nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel preserves the dense flows of pedestrians, cyclists and automotive traffic that traverse the site. The shifting triangular volumes that comprise the building create a unique presence on Amsterdam's skyline, and facilitate the integration of public program - including a restaurant, bar, sculpture garden and a live television studio."
Nhow, a brand of the NH Hotel Group, also operates a hotel in OMA's De Rotterdam building.
