Project Description
A short walk from the ocean, this summer retreat for an art collecting couple and their family is defined by a series of taught mahogany volumes. An entry court is formed by two symmetrical one story volumes off of the main 2-story bar building. Inside, a triple height atrium stair provides open views directly to the garden. All of the home’s public spaces including the living room, dining room, and kitchen are organized along a spine with sliding glass walls that open fully to the pool and gardens. The seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living is further enhanced by the shade giving steel trellis with fabric canopy and mahogany brise-soleils. The central stair brings filtered daylight and natural breezes into the home with operable windows and mahogany louvers. The upper level comprises a master suite, den and four guest rooms with a rooftop terrace providing panoramic views.
