Project Description
FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
Answering the client’s vision to bring a technologically advanced, family-focused development to Dubai’s ultraluxury market, ZAS Architects Dubai was engaged to design The Rosemont Hotel and Residences. Plans for the luxury development and first project for the new global hospitality brand, Rosemont, include a 448 key hotel tower and 280 key fully-serviced apartment tower. The over 2 million sq ft site is located along Sheikh Zayed Road in the city’s prestigious Al Thanyah district. Curio Collection, by Hilton has been selected to operate the hotel and residences.
The Hotel Tower is 53 storeys high (912 ft including extension of the façade feature beyond roof). The Apartment Tower is 55 storeys (899 ft including extension of the façade feature beyond roof).
A Destination for Family Entertainment
Created as the ultimate destination for the multitude of families with diverse nationalities who visit Dubai each year, the Rosemont will bring Dubai an exclusive, family-oriented ‘home away from home’. Amenities are family-focused, including a destination indoor/outdoor entertainment centre elevated against the background of Dubai’s skyline, soaring sky lobbies and a zero-edged pool with bottomless glass, all overlooking the Gulf.
DJ Armin, Principal at ZAS Architects Dubai says, “Few developments in Dubai offer year-round outdoor space that can compete with harsh summer temperatures. One of the project’s core amenity features – a 75,000 sq ft outdoor rainforest – will include a splash pool and artificial beach (designed without sand), a rainforest café and stream, along with space to accommodate adventure play for kids.” Features include shade and mist sprays from trees creating a unique all weather atmosphere. Water will be collected and stored from condensation.
Technology, lighting, and eye-catching elements evoke curiosity. Inside, amenities will encompass a myriad of high-tech indoor games and entertainment including a bowling alley and night club. A small cinema is in consideration. Outside, elements include aqua play, lazy stream, splash pool, adventure playground and activity trails on the podium roof.
Aesthetic
Marking an evolution in Dubai’s ultra-luxury market, the architecture captures a contemporary Dubai – reflecting a modern city where innovative development shapes the destination. Set against the dynamic backdrop of the ever-evolving skyline, the design gives nod to the urban pulse with unexpected visual elements and flashes of bold color.
A modernist podium with active frontage, niche interior retail in the hotel lobby and a Sheesha café on Sheikh Zayed Road will act as the pedestal to the two soaring towers. Elevated entrances feature opulent lobbies for the Hotel and Serviced Apartments with 3D-animated projected ceilings, green walls and dynamic surfaces.
The Rosemont Hotel
Conceptualized as a fluid building representing a flowing river, the façade’s dynamic lighting enhances the bold architecture. The hotel’s façade feature wraps the soaring tower and continues on the back of podium until it ends at the lower level shaping the canopies. The design references the flow of a river wrapping the building. Diving directly into the projected pool from the top, the river continues to flow through the bottom of the pool.
Visitors will step into the opulent, ultra-luxury 5-star facility, welcomed on the ground floor by robotic luggage handling and hi-tech projection surfaces, prior to reaching the sky lobby & reception/check-in on the 26th floor and its magnificent views of the Gulf and city beyond.
The lobby’s skypool – a 30 ft cantilevered, zero-edge, partial glass-bottom pool is star-lit from below mimicking the night sky, featuring a skypool deck and pool bar. State-of-the-art fine dining and all-day dining restaurant overlook the skylobby and pool. A roof top (46th floor) lounge/bar will redefine open terrace lounges with its manicured décor and elegance. Connected to the skypool is an ultra-luxury spa and health club.
Located on the 3rd podium level beside the entertainment center, the hotel’s event space and meetings rooms can accommodate 500 people.
A very complex structural design allows all rooms a view of the Gulf. A mix of standard/executive rooms and junior suites, each room is state-of-the-art and designed with a soaring view, smart phone access card, highend guest room management, robotic room service & drink making machines. Executive floors feature executive lounges to serve guests and visitors.
The presidential suite, approximately 6300 sq ft in area, houses a luxurious living area with a welcoming aquarium in the entrance foyer, its own private pool with Jacuzzi and aqua massage, wet spa with private treatment rooms, and ice room.
The Rosemont Residences
Representing a shell & pearl, the apartment tower’s moving lights along the middle floors light up the building in a pattern similar to atomic orbital rings. 280 rooms designed for long stays are fully furnished, giving guests a home away from home feeling within a luxurious hotel-like environment.
As guests arrive at the upper-ground floor welcome lobby, they will be escorted to the skylobby & reception/check-in on the 25th floor by dedicated shuttle elevators. The lobby lounge hosts a deli as the all-day dining restaurant. A private 30 ft cantilevered, zero-edge pool star-lit from below, mimicking the night sky an encompassing the skylobby, surrounded by a grand pool deck and pool bar. Apartments are not for sale and will be operated by the Curio Collection, by Hilton for short and long term stays.
The health club and residential amenities are connected to the skypool/skylobby, creating a visibly attractive zone for the residents/guests.
