Project Description
Builder's Choice and Custom Home Awards Finalist
Situated on an exposed corner, this residence is protected visually and acoustically from the street. Tet inside, this home opens outward towards a deep enclosed landscape. The building is defined by nine 24 ft. x 24 ft. square grids, with rigorous 8 foot modules within. The striking front rainscreen is framed in 2 ft. x 8 ft. rectangular panels of cement, while its rear façade is lined with floor to ceiling panels of glass. The main entry is accessed through a courtyard that can be closed and seamlessly hidden. This tranquil residence features a central living/gallery space that is flanked by private rooms. Its polished white terrazzo floor is embedded with mirror chips and hydronic radiant heat. Walls are finished with a floating reveal subtly furthering the gallery aesthetic. This unique home was designed for a widow in honor of her late husband and their mutual love of collecting art.
