Project Description
Builder's Choice and Custom Home Awards Finalist
Our clients came to us and wanted a classic shingle style vacation home for retirement. We sit down with our clients and conduct a "lifestyle interview" where we ask in depth questions so that we can truly make a custom home for them. The wife enjoyed cooking so the kitchen was going to a be a major factor in the new home. They desired all of the modern amenities but wanted a turn of the century feel to the space. We choose shaker style beaded doors and a full walk in pantry is adjacent to a built-in desk. The husband is very particular about his coffee so we created a coffee bar with walnut bead board backing so he can have his special area. The cooktop is serviced with pullout storage for spices and utensils on either side which create the support for the hood. A sitting area is adjacent to the kitchen with a breakfast room overlooking the marsh. The vaulted ceiling is highlighted with Gothic webbing in the apex of the ceiling a window on one side and an overlook from a reading nook on the second floor of the home opposite.
