Project Description
The Water Museum of Tabasco Mexico
The Drop of Water
Introduction: The architectural master design, iconic and futuristic The Drop of Water, is inspired by nature and our Eco-system and above all the symbol of life for our species on earth. The beauty with this design achieves his architecture, forms and spaces where his author Arch. Juan Castanos place the creation of this project directly associated with water one of the four basic elements of stability in the creation of our planet, where its beneficial or destructive direct impact on humanity.
Objective: The architectural design of the Drop of water was created to satisfy the need to build a public building where you will be given the use of water museum. Interactive space designed for learning to use and water management as well as promoting cultural values in the protection of our environment. The resulting design of this is intended to be one of the most important and iconic buildings in the city, making it, in an Worldwide urban icon benefit Mexico and its people.
Design Techniques: The water drop stands as one of the greatest masterpieces of Castanos, both for its dynamism and integration with the spectacular natural environment and creating a sustainable Biommicry Architecture in particular the importance of the interpenetration of interior spaces and exterior, as well as the strong emphasis on harmony between man and nature including intelligent design of this masterpiece. The commitment of the design is the use for energy efficiency implementation based on the building of new green technologies harmony resulting in natural and urban environment.
Horizontal Master Plan: The architectural design of The Drop of Water meets the need of creating awareness among the inhabitants of the city of the importance of protecting our ecology and environment from the impact urban manmade by rapid population growth in cities. The aerodynamic shape of the building using its built amphibious allows greater efficiency and mobility footprint minimizing the space occupied by the building, in order to preserve the natural environment in land use alternatives, looking for new alternatives for space occupying water bodies.
The structure itself acts as a living organism, with the use of wind turbines to the maximum wind and energy conversion systems of solar radiation located outside the building using photovoltaic cells in the lining that enable better environmental performance while protecting the environment.
Outdoor spaces will be used to interact directly with the gardens and nature, as well as in architectural design include collecting rainwater per floor and also on the cover of the building structure through the construction of a green roof, maximizing the use of renewable energy.
The intelligent building dome will have a structure which bear mega photovoltaic cells, and also the use of dimmers crystals, maximizing the space used and provides such innovative design in terms of its internal design and provides users spectators inner space open to the outside through the floor level height to the top of the dome, creating a visual effect of amplitude and freedom.
Eco-Design the construction of energy-efficient buildings could have a significant impact on energy policies.
This is the key objective of the "green architecture" movement that is changing the way in the design and construction of buildings in the world today.? Combining ecological design techniques and clever technology can not only reduce the energy consumption and environmental impact, but also reduce operating costs, creating a more pleasant environment for human comfort creating a harmonious working environment, improving health people and productivity, another feature and benefits of this architectural project is reducing environmental impacts, increasing property values and rental yields.
Construction materials include high strength steel, high-strength concrete, stainless steel panels, anodized aluminum, acrylic, copper patina, self-shadowing glass, ceramic composite, and tempered glass. Special window pane allow daylight to reduce the need for maintaining the interior lighting ultraviolet rays while keeping the temperature of heat outwards, and minimize heat loss in the morning and evening.
Another aspect to be considered in the design and operation of the building, is the system based lighting (LED) high efficiency, also includes accessories at low flow hydraulic system, and the use of recycled materials and recovery system rainwater for use of the bathroom furniture as well as toilet flushing through the different areas of the building as well in irrigation of green areas.
The cooling system of the building or air conditioners will have a power generation systems from generators of wind turbines helping considerably in building operating expenses and see improving and protecting the environment.
